Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At Haberdashers’ Aske’s Crayford Academy we raised over £1000 in 2020 for wear a hat day, all this was done virtually during lockdown and was such a success in no small part because of one of our pupils. She had suffered for a number of years with brain tumours and unfortunately didn’t make it to 2021.
This pupil was an inspiration to many and left a lasting mark on the school, many staff and pupils. We miss her dearly.
In 2017 an ex team mate and former captain when playing at both Maidstone United and Tonbridge Angels also passed away due to brain tumours.
When working at Sedgehill a colleague of similar age to myself, Roger, went home with a headache. That headache turned out to be a brain tumour. He lost his sight and eventually his life leaving his wife and child behind.
As such, this is a charity that is important to me and many others too.
When considering what I could do to help raise money for this great cause I went back to my childhood for inspiration having visited lands end as a child this was a challenge that struck a chord with me. I am unable to do this on the roads so will be cycling this distance in the school gym and my garage using exercise bikes. Planning to finish on wear a hat day 2021 Friday 26th March.
