Story
Hello, my name is Ryan and I am here to help raise money on behalf of the British Heart foundation by taking part in the London to Southend Bike ride. Now I will admit, over the 19 or so years of my lifetime I have never been a hugely charitable person. Whether that was due to lack of money or just plain selfishness I am yet to get to the bottom of. However, I want to rewrite a few wrongs and that is why I am setting up this Just Giving page.
Cycling has been a huge passion of mine ever since I was a little boy getting my first bike. I remember it was red with tiny white stabilisers and as soon as I got it I was pedaling around my garden like nobody's business. Fast forward to the last couple of years and now I take my hobby very seriously. I take my road bike out every week looking to stay fit but to also be competitive, I try and go faster and longer with each ride to better myself and that's the way I like it (And yes I do wear the Lycra tights and jersey if you must know).
A friend of mine completed the London to Southend ride a few years back, he told me of the rewarding nature of the experience and I distinctly remember being so very jealous at the time as well as guilty that I didn't take part. So this year it is my turn to Join in and help raise money for the British Heart foundation. Together we can help beat Heart disease and other circulatory Illnesses.
As this is my first time setting up a donation page I am not sure what to expect. I have set a target of £100 to raise between now and the 19th July but I am sure with enough backing we can raise more than that, the sky is the limit.
Thank you in taking out a brief chunk of your time to read this and any donation, no matter how big or small will be very welcome.
Cheers,
Ryan McColl
