Story
What am I doing?
The plan is to climb the three peaks of the UK - Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike - using the stairs in my building. The challenge will see me climb almost 3000m, more than 1,700 flights of stairs and over 16,200 stairs. I’m going to give myself the challenge of completing this in 14 hours. I’ve tried to use the C I got in higher maths to work out of that time will be manageable, so the only proper way to find out is if I try it.
I’m doing this as a really small way of giving back to the NHS. They have been fighting this battle head on, without proper resources, without protective equipment, under staffed and risking their lives to save ours. By donating, we may only be able to help solve some issues that staff on the front-line are facing. The real change has to come from those in power to give the adequate support needed. As much as I find it disheartening that we are in a position that we have to donate to the NHS, if we can help, let’s do it together.
I know many of you have already been donating to other causes and doing your own challenges, so any size of donation would be greatly appreciated. I’ll keep you all up to date with how I get on with the challenge on my social media accounts.
Thank you.
And thank you to the NHS.
