Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I know it sometimes feels like people are always doing something for charity and times are hard in this climate but please read...
As some people know I lost my mother in law to cancer 18 months ago, this was a tough time for all and some of her final weeks were spent at a local hospice in Harlow. The work they do and the support they give, not just to the people in there but to their families is just amazing. They supported Laura (my wife) and Laura's Dad Pete and this, I felt, was above and beyond what I ever could have expected. They were understanding, kind and non judgemental. They made Pat (Laura’s mum) so comfortable and treated her with the dignity and respect that she deserved and helped her achieve all her wishes at such a tough time.
However most hospices run on Donations ONLY...
So I am trying to give a little back by riding around London... Into Surrey and back to London. A course that covers 100 MILES! And I’m hoping to do this in LESS THAN 6 hours. Making my average speed about 17mph. No small task over that distance. Even more so for someone that thinks a bike ride is a leisurely cycle to the pub in summer...
I’m training for it already and my target is £750.00. Even if it’s something small please donate if you can, it would mean so much to me to give something back to these people.
Cancer is a terrible illness and this charity helps to give the people who have been unlucky enough to lose that battle the time they deserve, in the most comfortable surroundings.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you people!!!
