Story

I am taking on the challenge of running the iconic London Marathon to raise much needed and vital funds for Cornwall Hospice Care in April 2023. Help me to make a difference and keep the amazing nurses giving much needed care to those people living with a terminal illness in Cornwall right now.

Back in 2019, after my step mum had just completed a half marathon and we were having tea, I opened my big mouth winding up my dad that the London Marathon would be easy and that if I did it I could beat his best time. How stupid I was, I had no idea how hard the training would be and I also hated running! A week later I was “delighted” to hear that he had signed me up to run the London Marathon  for Cornwall Hospice Care!

My dad and step mum had completed the London Marathon several times raising money for Cornwall Hospice Care, with all the winding up I had done there was no way I could jib out! I trained all that winter then a few weeks before the event it was cancelled due to COVID! From that moment I stopped running and just ate, a lot!

Roll on to now and it’s time to finish what I started and get this challenge completed!

Unfortunately the same year I signed up to do the marathon my step mum Sarah was diagnosed with a brain tumour and after a hard battle sadly passed away in the May of 2021. She was an amazing person, one of her passions was running, even during her illness she took part in the Indian Queens Half Marathon to raise money for charity! Sarah was very supportive and was looking forward to cheering me on at the marathon, she organised a fundraising event for me which raised over £1000. She will be a massive inspiration on the day when I’m out there running the 26.2 miles!

My fundraising back in 2020 raised £2,681 but as it’s been a few years the page is now inactive but can be found here:

I am so grateful for everyone who sponsored me at that time, it is much appreciated!

If you would like to support me in this challenge then please donate what you can so the amazing nurses can continue giving much needed care to those that need it.

Thank for reading and hopefully your donation! Xx
