Story
You could say I was shocked when only a few months ago I was diagnosed as having testicular cancer. Since then my world has been turned upside down but thankfully with the help of my friends and family I have remained very positive.
Twenty four is not a particularly great age to discover you have this illness but all things happen for a reason and I know I will come out of this a stronger and better person.
I am now in stage two of the cancer and its here where the real battle begins. As a result of the cancer spreading into my lymph glands I will now be starting 9 weeks of chemotherapy. As a result I am going to be losing my hair and I thought Id turn this first negative into a positive by raising money for Christies who will be looking after me over the next few months.
I go into Christies for my first course of Chemo on Tuesday the 10th of April. So the Sunday before I will be getting my 'locks off' for the charity.
To help me remain strong I would appreciate you donating what you can to this fantastic hospital.....In short although I appreciate your worries and concerns the truth is your donations to this fantastic cause are more important to me than sympathy.
On a different note I would just like to say that Testicular cancer is a rare form of cancer with only 3000 new cases diagnosed each year. For all young males that read this please regularly check for any lumps or bumps and dont be afraid to go get checked out at the GP. Although I am aiming to raise funds for The Christie I also want to increase the awareness of this cancer. I am fortunate and have a good prognosis which is largely due to the fact that I did just this and visited my GP. With this in mind please feel free to forward my story on your facebook, twitter and of course chat to your friends and family and together lets increase the awareness of the disease which may help encourage others to check regularly.
Keep your chins up everyone, a few months down the road a new improved Razza will be back on the prowl so keep the beer on Ice till then!
