Story
"Climate change is real, it’s critical, it’s urgent." Scott Kania, Earthwatch CEO
I'm taking part in Poets for the Planet's poem-a-thon at the Society of Authors in London on February 8th. Sixty poets will be reading on the theme of climate change and will be raising funds for Earthwatch, and Bees for Development. Please consider donating to either of
these charities who both do important work. This free event will be running all day, so you can also drop in & support the poets, or come to the ticketed Gala event later that evening.
I have chosen to support Earthwatch, because I believe in the power of education and community. Their mission is to 'engage people worldwide to promote the understanding and action necessary
for a sustainable environment by helping to address the most pressing environmental challenges...from climate change to human-wildlife coexistence to environmental sustainability.'
And don't just take it from them, in the words of Dr. E.O. Wilson, the planet's leading expert on ants (what more authority do you need?!) “Earthwatch does more than back vital research; it inspires us to understand our global responsibilities as citizens of the world."
Please sponsor me or one of our other poets if you can!
