Story

I have entered the London Landmarks Half Marathon not only because I am keen to get back into running and improve myself but it also gives me the opportunity to raise some money for the hospice where my dad passed away in Sep. 2014.

From diagnosis of cancer till his passing only 12 weeks passed. It is still such a shock, even years later.

The care he received in his final 2 weeks at Michael Sobell Hospice was outstanding. We feel he could finally relax in knowing that this was a safe place and as a family we were looked after completely. Facing something like this is never ever going to be easy, but when we look back at the time of his illness and trips in and out of hospital, the doctors and the nurses at the hospice offered such a sense of relief to us. I want to raise money for Michael Sobell Hospice so that many others who are in a horrible situation such as this, both patient and family, have somewhere compassionate and safe to go.

This will be my fifth half marathon - but by no means will it be easy.
