John is running the Marathon de Paris in April 2013 to raise money for the Teesside Hospice. This is his message.

"The Hospice provides support and end of life care for those who are critically ill, and for their families friends.

It costs £4,000 per day to keep the Hospice running. I am trying to raise enough to keep them open for half a day, if I can.

The Marathon is just a vehicle to raise this money; it is a long way and will be hard work not only the race itself but also the training needed to get to the end. I know, I did it last year. However, the personal challenge for me is incomparable to the work the Hospice and its staff undertake everyday!
