I am very fortunate to have been selected to run the London marathon on behalf of Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. I am sure we all know of someone within our communities affected by cancer. Lingen Davies is our closest specialist cancer unit so is a cause well worth supporting. I shall be training over the next 6 months, so any support and donations will be gratefully received.
10 Runners will head down to London and represent Lingen Davies Cancer Fund on 2nd October 2022 and will be wearing their running tops with pride as they represent our charity.They will have trained for many months and weeks, and will have given a huge amount of sweat and tears.They are also asked to raise a minimum of £1500, which covers the cost of their place, and also allows us to raise money and awareness of our work. These donations will allow us to continue our much needed work in buying equipment for the Cancer unit at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, to invest in more community based projects, and work along side other charities, groups, and initiatives that all help with those who are receiving treatment for cancer, or who have loved ones that need our support too.It was only a few decades ago that there was no cancer treatment in Shropshire, and this meant so many of our family and friends had to travel huge distances to receive treatment.
