Fundraising for Meningitis Research Foundation
Thank you for vising my JustGiving page.
My sister, Anne Fletcher, died on 4th September 2001 just over a week after her 18th birthday.
I have recently written an article for the Meningitis Research Foundation's Book of Experience on their website which details my experience of septicaemia through losing my sister. If you would like to read this please visit http://www.meningitis.org/book-of-experience/anne-fletcher-62873
Anne's death was tragic and completely unexpected with the timescale between her first feeling unwell and her life support being turned off being just over a week.
The Meningitis Research Foundation does invaluable work both in terms of research into meningitis and septicaemia, and by providing support to those affected or bereaved.
To those of you who know me, you will know I'm not a naturally sporty person and training for a half-marathon has been somewhat of a challenge however I know it will be worth it.
I fundraise in Anne's memory to raise as much money as possible for the Meningitis Research Foundation in the hope that this will go some way to helping others.
I also hope to run the London Marathon next year, again for the Meningitis Research Foundation.
Any donations, whatever their size, are so much appreciated by both myself and the Meningitis Research Foundation.
Thank you. xxx
