I am running in the Big fun Run in Leeds to raise money for the Alzheimers society. Sadly my Mum has alzheimers and she is now cared for in a residential home. Prior to this my Dad cared for her at home for a number of years. They have received help from the alzheimers society through regular social events which offered practical and emotional support to both Mum and Dad.

The alzheimers society are involved in research into this disease which affects so many families. There is no cure at this time but there are some treatments that do help to slow the rate of the disease.
