Story
As many of you know, the past 4 years of my life have been enveloped by the dark clouds of depression. My life crumbled before my eyes and just 3 months ago I saw no way out and nearly took my own life. I will never forget that night. I got through it with immense support, and now I am 100% passionate about helping others in the same situation and promoting the message that it's ok not to be ok, and it's ok to reach out. If I can stop one person from reaching that dark place, then my experiences are worth it.
It's charities like Samaritans which help to save lives every single day. They offer an ear to absolutely anybody going through absolutely anything. In those darkest times, an ear is all you need. A conversation can truly save a life.
On Saturday 28th July I will be embarking on a challenge that will push me to my limits physically as well as mentally. I will be running a half marathon on the Saturday, and will then cycle 100 miles as part of Prudential Ride London on the Sunday. All of the fundraising money will be going to Samaritans, a charity which has saved my life on several occasions.
As well as this mammoth challenge, I will continue to spread the word about mental health, to share my story with as many people as possible and to break down the stigma surrounding mental health one conversation at a time.
Thank you to those who have, and continue to, support me. It is because of you that I am still here, and am therefore able to share my story with the world.
I would appreciate any donations, but no pressure whatsoever.
Thank you x
