On 17th June Rhys, Caian and myself, along with our good friends Natalie, Simon and Martha, will be taking part in Light The Lakes.

The Light The Lakes event sees teams of police officers, staff, retired officers and police friends light up the famous Wainwright fells of Cumbria in memory of fallen collegues.  

The event raises money to support COPS (Care of Police Survivors) who provide peer support and access to counselling services to help surviving family members rebuild their shattered lives. They have helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who died on duty.

We will be climbing Beda Fell.  We will be walking up on Friday evening carrying all of the kit needed for a night on the mountain. At 3am we will light the top of our peak with blue flares to remember Gareth and all the other police officers who have lost their lives.
