Story
In August 2017 my husband David and father to our 4 boys was diagnosed with a brain tumour. After 18 months of battling with chemotherapy and several operations we were told the devastating news that there was nothing more that could be done.
So then our attention turned to how we made the best of our time together for which St Luke’s was a massive part of that. As David started to deteriorate more they stepped in and supported both David and ourselves for the duration of the four weeks he was in there until his untimely death.
The tender loving care they gave to David and us as a family, whilst also supporting us emotionally was second to none. Even in the final days of David’s life their unwavering commitment to making every day count as a family was something that had to be experienced to understand.
This is why we feel so very passionate to raise as much money as we can for this great charity as we see it as a privilege to give something back for what we have witnessed first hand.
Midnight Walk is St Luke's biggest single fundraiser of the year. This year, our 15th walk, sees many changes which we hope you will like! We have a new half way turnaround point at Crewe Railway Station, a slightly shorter route, we're really encouraging younger participants and for the first time men can register. So it really is ALL CHANGE AT CREWE! www.stlukes-hospice.co.uk/midnightwalk
