Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 30th of June (and into the 1st of July!) Beth and I are going to walk 100k to raise money for the MS Society. We will have 36 hours to complete the distance but we are hoping to get it done in 24-28 hours! It’s going to be brutal but here's a bit about why we are undertaking this slightly insane challenge:
Ruth: The MS Society was an invaluable source of support to our family when Mum was initially diagnosed. We were able to get huge quantities of literature that really helped us understand what was happening to her and it didn't cost us a penny. They also put millions of pounds into research that will hopefully one day bring us a cure. I've wanted to do something for a long time to raise some money for the MS Society so that they can continue their work to support other families who are going through these difficult times and in the hope that new discoveries will make Mum's life that little bit easier. I am so pleased that Beth has agreed to do this with me as I never would have been brave enough to do it on my own!
Beth: For as long as I can remember, my Nan has suffered with MS. It's never been easy for her and it's made me realise how there are so many simple things in life that we take for granted. That's why when Ruth suggested doing a charity walk for the MS society, I didn't really read what crazy task I was getting into! A small walk, how hard could it be... Well now she has fully informed me of the task and this is going to be really tough, however if we are raising money for this wonderful charity then I know it will be worth it. I would love if one day they could find a cure for MS which is why your charity donations mean so much to the both of us.
Thank you all for your donations! Wish us luck!! We think we might need it...!
