Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This is my first marathon and, despite my advancing years, I am determined to train hard and be successful. I want to raise money for the International Bomber Command Centre and in particular for the education programme which is currently competing for space with other bookings and events.  A separate education building is really needed to accommodate the many school and youth group visits in a purpose built dedicated setting. This will also free up the Suite above the cafe for bookings needed by the IBCC charity for essential fundraising.  Children visiting the IBCC learn about the extraordinary bravery of the young airmen of Bomber Command as well as the devastating effects of bombing and warfare. For me  the most far reaching aim of the IBCC is reconciliation. This is an important idea for the young people of today to take away from their visit, as it looks forward to a more peaceful future. Your donation will help raise funds for a dedicated building to facilitate the valuable work of the Education team at the IBCC.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity where it will also attract up to nine times as much in matched funding. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
