Story
I’m excited to be saddling up to take part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 46 on behalf of Teach First. That means cycling 46 miles from London to Surrey and back in what I’m told is one of the greatest and most thrilling cycling challenges in the world!
I decided to take on this epic challenge because in the UK today, millions of children from low-income communities are prevented from fulfilling their potential in school.
Children from disadvantaged backgrounds are less likely to get good grades at school, less likely to get into a good university and more likely to be unemployed when they leave school.
But we know that with the right support, there is no reason all children can’t reach their full potential. If you can help me reach my fundraising target, you will be helping change the lives of hundreds of children.
Your donation can help in several ways including the following:
- Helping Teach First recruit and train inspirational teachers to work in schools facing the greatest challenges
- Provide support to young people directly through careers and employability programmes that prepare them for the world of work
- Help train school leaders so they can have the biggest possible impact on the lives of disadvantaged young people
My training is well underway. I was thrilled and privileged to join nearly 256 pupils and their teachers from 19 of our partner schools at a special 15-mile training event organised by Prudential.
These pupils have been given the opportunity to cycle the 46 mile route as part of the PruGoals programme supported by Prudential. It was an honour to meet so many inspirational young people and train alongside them.
Thank you so much for visiting my page, I hope you will be able to give
generously and help me make a positive impact on these young lives.
