On September 12th at 09:00 Team RAMFEL will set out from Putney Bridge as they take part in the Thames Pathway Challenge. The aim is to get to Henley-on-Thames, 100km (62.14 miles) away 24 hours later.
Russell and Hannah are joining colleagues from RAMFEL to take on the challenge. With five people taking part this year any injured team members can be carried over the line.
The team are putting themselves through this gruelling challenge to raise funds for the work RAMFEL does in Essex and London. In addition to on-going support the money will also be used to provide essential service such as the foodbank, replacement ID documents and urgent travel money.
These are challenging times for the people RAMFEL works with. Government funding cuts and global humanitarian crisis are putting an unprecidented strain on rescources. A proportion of the funds raised through the challenge will go to help the humanitarian crisis in Calais
