The Charity,

I'm raising money for "me & dee" a local charity that helps provides holidays and special memories to children and families when they are needed most. me & dee has a simple mission, to ensure families going through difficult and uncertain times are gifted with memories they can treasure, never losing sight of what truly matters. Because it’s those special moments shared with the ones we love, no matter how complicated circumstances may be, that are most precious of all.

The Task,

Climbing Kilimanjaro is no walk in the park, the highest point in Africa, and one of the worlds seven summits! Located in Tanzania standing 5,895 Metres above sea level   

• - 6 x the height of Scafell pike! The highest mountain in England 978m
•  - Higher than Everest base camp!               
•  - 50% Less oxygen than sea level!  
•  - 9 Days to summit and return via the Lemosho route

Me,

I ran a 10k once, have dodgy knees and a couple of major lung surgeries under my belt however this year has included a few practice trips.  Starting with the Lake District and the Cairngorms as well as a trip to Mt Toubkal of Morocco standing just over 4000 meters, these practice climbs have given me high hopes of completing this next challenge!
