Story
I'm requesting your support for my 2019 Mont
Blanc Challenge! Mont Blanc is the highest point in Western Europe and has only a 60% success rate!
In 2018 I pushed myself to the limits to complete the 5
Peaks Challenge in under 47 hours and 40 minutes.
Thanks to your support I raised over €2500 and as a team we
raised £33k for The Lily Foundation, a charity that is very close to us as our colleague
and friend James Kitto's daughter Poppy suffers with this terrible and
debilitating Mitochondrial disease.
To further support the charity and to push ourselves even more
in 2019 we have set our sights on The highest peak in Western Europe: Mont
Blanc.
Measuring 4810m it is the highest peak in the Alps and
represents a very challenging climb in terms of technical skill, fitness and
adaptation to altitude.
I have been training solidly since January and scaling up
each week. A week’s training to date includes 3 x CrossFit classes, a pool session and several long walks. In addition I have introduced
2 x step climbing sessions as well.
I am extremely grateful for the support raised last year and
my request is that you support me again in what will be an extremely tough
physical and mental challenge and one that will have huge benefit for our
chosen charity The Lily Foundation.
You will find a link below where you can sponsor me and every
donation at €100 or over will go into a raffle for an Ireland rugby shirt
signed by the squad!
Thanks and best regards,
Russell
The Liliy Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.Did you know every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting. Please stand with us and fight Mitochondrial Disease and fight for hope.
