18 July 2022: PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE AND VENUE FOR PLANNED GATHERING TO REMEMBER RUPERT (please see below):
We are delighted to let you know that a gathering is being planned to remember Rupert and celebrate his life on Wednesday 7 September 2022. It will give us all the chance to share our memories of Rupert with his close friends, family and colleagues and give him the kind of send off he would have wanted. We very much hope as many as possible of those who knew Rupert will be able to join us, so please do spread the word.
Details are as follows:
Date: Wednesday 7 September 2022
Time: 6pm
Venue: 2 - 6 Boundary Row, Waterloo, London SE1 8HP
RSVP: We really hope you are able to join us. If you can come, please contact Bridget Chapman of Trade Credit Global who is co-ordinating the event. Email: bridget.chapman@
Rupert died peacefully at home on Wednesday 2 September 2020 following several gruelling months of chemotherapy. He faced his illness with typical optimism and good humour, and subsequently with exceptional dignity and stoicism. He will be enormously missed by all of his family and by his many friends and colleagues.
Rupert leaves two sons, Max and Angus. Knowing how much Rupert supported The Royal British Legion throughout his life, Max and Angus would love donations to be made to the charity in their father’s memory.
Thank you very much for any support you can give.
Unfortunately due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, Rupert’s funeral was necessarily small. We very much hope to hold a larger memorial service once restrictions are lifted.
