Our aim is to run five marathons in five days. Not only that but during these marathons we plan to reach the highest peaks of each country in the UK and Ireland. (Scafell Pike, Snowdon, Carrantuohill, Slieve Donard and Ben Nevis.) Our route will therefore involve an ascent of over 8900metres which is higher than Mount Everest!! We shall be traveling over 1000miles and running 131miles.

We are running to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK and Help for Heroes. Our whole team is from Exeter University Officer Training Corps which is how we developed our links to these charities. Help for Heroes is a fantastic charity supporting wounded soldiers of the British Army and their families. In addition one of our training staff has been diagnosed with bowel cancer and we are therefore also trying to support this other extremely worthy charity. We have been supporting both charities throughout the last academic year and we now look to this event as our last big fundraising effort of the year.
