I am running this half marathon in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, and on behalf of a close friend, Tom, who was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer, which he has beaten thrice.

The money raised by Teenage Cancer Trust meant that Tom was on a special ward with fantastic extra facilities, allowing for him to go through his treatment in an adolescent friendly environment, with his parents present at all times.

Tom went through a number of school and university interruptions during treatment, but with the support of his family, friends, the hard work of Teenage Cancer Trust, he is now a fully qualified teacher of French and Spanish.
