SUCCESS: I HAVE COMPLETED 10KM IN 1HR 20 MINUTES! Not a world record but the last 2km were a struggle. It was a beautiful sunny day in Knole Park. In the shade, I got quite warm but there was a brisk, chilly breeze to keep me fresh. And the people whom I meet en route were friendly and happy to accept information slips about what Run The Wall Palestine was all about :).
THANK YOU to everyone who has chipped into the fantastic total you can see on the righthand side of the screen. These funds will be used wisely bu the Amos Trust and their Partners in Palestine for the rebuilding of illegally demolished homes.
Why did I do the run: I am joining with other runners from Palestine and around the world to cover the 750km length of the Israeli Separation Wall at 10am on Saturday 27 March 2021. I am running 10km to raise awareness of the human cost of the Wall, to demand freedom of movement for Palestinians and to help raise £15,000 to rebuild a Palestinian home. Please help by making a donation. Amos Trust normally takes a team to participate in the Palestine marathon in Bethlehem at the end of March but this year, for obvious reasons, that won't be happening so instead I will "run the wall" in Knole Park Sevenoaks and I hope others will run/walk there with me - whilst respecting current Lockdown rules. I have seen many kms of this Wall and its dehumanising checkpoints. I know it is an abomination.
I am running in support of innocent, urban and rural families who are suffering because of the Wall and to protest about the indescriminate and illegal house-demolition which is part of Israeli policy to subjugate Palestinians - Christian and Muslim alike. Where is "Love thy neighbour " in this attitude?
