Story

Google reckons 23h 38min? Sweet. Ahh....that's just to Tullamore. OK.

U2 said they wanted to run (they also wanted to hide, once upon a time, but I won't do that), so run it is. Sometime between 2200 and 2300 on Saturday 6th August, I'll be running (trying to, at least) all the way from Galway to Dublin - 135 miles/215km #EdgeToEdge and trying to do so in 24 mad hours. The next day is the Edge's birthday, so I'll be listening to nothing but U2 with maybe some Fontaines DC at 6h intervals. Someone let him know I'm bringing him a cake. I'll probably eat it first though.
People have asked why I want to do this and, like Forrest they're asking if I'm running for world peace, the homeless, women's rights, the environment or animals. Well, I'll take any opportunity I can to tell you to PLEASE go and check out the work of the @wwf and @peacedirect and see how you can help, but this is more the classic answer:

#IJustFeltLikeRunning

However...so many people have asked if I'm running for charity and seeing as I didn't hit my goal for the Cape Wrath Challenge (the date listed on the page) for the incredible World Wide Fund for Nature, I say let's go again. This means I can do another runnin the future for Peace Direct, doesn't it?

I want to see if I can, basically. I've never run this far before, in one go and I want to see how it feels. If I make it, great. If not, I'll know a hell of a lot more about myself for now and the future and I'll be proud of myself for starting. I'll be grateful for those who support me, both on the run (Take a bow Darren, David, Eddie and Eoin), on here and at home, especially Bee and Nadine. Maybe seeing me win, lose, or draw will inspire you to do something, to challenge yourself, or make a difference. Just remember and this is the most important point of this run - it's giving it your best that counts, not whether you impress others, or present the perfect image.

Take pride in the struggle, you're ace, you are.

P.s. There is going to be a lot of struggle on this. It will be a good watch. Kind of. If you would like to follow along - my @opentracking tracker link is here ( https://live.opentracking.co.uk/edge22/ ) and active from 2200 Saturday! Send messages of encouragement if you can via social, hopefully will get the lads to read me some when I'm struggling!
