Story
In November last year, we lost my Grandpa.
As a former Chindit and business owner Grandpa was as sharp as a razor, always immaculately dressed and switched on and he would never be short of a joke or story to tell. When Grandpa was diagnosed with Alzheimer's everything changed and although he was still the same jokey and smiley person, his memory and personality began to dissipate. Seeing someone you love and admire slip away in front of you is something I could never wish on anyone. The disease affects over 55 million people every year and that number is only estimated to increase. The Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice. I am doing this event in memory of my Grandpa and to raise money for the Alzheimer's charity to not only help support families and patients but to help find a cure or preventative. No one should face this alone.
SO WHAT IS THE EVENT?
The event consists of a 1.2mile swim, 56mile bike and 13mile run and will take around 7 hours. This will be my first ever triathlon. Please donate and share this page to help me raise money and support the charity.
Thank you.
