Story

Running for Remi

Remi's family and friends successfully completed The Big Fun Run on the 10th October in Perth.

Team Remi are amazed by the wonderful support they've received and the money raised so far !

Our daughter Remi Nicole Ellis-Gibson was born on May 7th 2009 and passed away on 12th June 2009.

Remi was born with severe heart, lung and vision problems and throughout her short life she was cared for by the wonderful teams at Yorkhill Neonatal and Paediatric ICU depts.

The staff at Yorkhill not only looked after Remi, but they treated her with the utmost dignity and respect. In addition to the high level of care given to Remi, they helped us to come to terms and understand Remi's complex condition with both empathy and compassion.

That is why we are asking you to give a donation, no matter how big or small, to Yorkhill via the Yorkhill Childrens Foundation.

Remi was only with us for a short time but we as a family are richer for loving and knowing her.

Yorkhill Children’s Foundation aims to provide all the “extra” services and equipment which make a child’s stay in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children at Yorkhill in Glasgow less distressing. These can include innovative medical equipment, improvements in child and family facilities and paediatric research and training.

Scanners, incubators, ventilators, monitors and many more examples of equipment, services and research have been added to the hospital’s resources. All are at work helping to put smiles back on children’s faces.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. So please donate, spread the word and help us do Remi's memory proud.
