Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for the kind support they gave me when I competed last year at the Leeds Castle 10k run. I managed a fairly respectable time of 53 minutes and 17 seconds. It was a very emotional day for me and was very overwhelmed but the number of other people who also run for such a great cause.
I rasied over £700 either via the online page I set up last year or by the normal old fashion way of paper sponsorship forms.
The last year has been a very touch one, finding out your dad or anyone for that matter is terminally ill is such a hard bit of news to swallow. I take my hat off to him tho, he has faught it very hard by chemo and radiotherapy. This has stopped the spread of the cancer but of course will never fully eliminate such a killer disease. No one can put a time limit on how long they have left, consultants say 6 months.... If the person believes and fights then that time can be endless. All I will say is use the time wisely.
Onto the event and the reason for setting up this page. I am after your support again for this years event on the 27th September 2009 @ Leeds Castle. As I stated above, it is a charity that I have taken on board now and will continue to run for and support. My target is the same as last year, £500 but any money that I raise will go to a worthy cause. I am aiming to beat my time by at least 5 minutes, I want a sub 50 minute 10k.
Please help me with sponsorship and spare whatever you can. If I get 100 people to pledge £1 there is £100 already. But obviously I want to raise as much as possible so if you are feeling generous I would be a very happy runner.
Thanks again and if you have any questions about my running or the event please ask
Kirk
