Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my my page.

Im running the Manchester Half Marathon in October 2022 in memory of my Dad and to raise money for MS

MS is a charity very close to my heart, having lost my dad to it back in 2008, he was a very strong person and wouldn’t ever let ms beat him. He always said ‘he had MS, MS didn’t have him’ which was amazing and inspirational. Many times we would get home from shopping with my mum finding my dad on his hands and knees planting flowers, mowing the grass. As he wouldn’t let anyone do it for him, as in his head, allowing someone to do so meant he had let MS take over his life.

My wife took part in the Manchester half marathon for Lupus UK, another amazing charity. When she did it I was a little jealous and disappointed with myself that I hadn’t done it, if not for myself, for MS and the memory of my Dad.
So October 2022, that is exactly what I am doing. I have booked my place in the Manchester Half Marathon and I will be doing it in memory of my Dad, and MS, And hope you can all support me and help me raise some cash for an amazing Charity. My dad was an inspiration, and I am immensely proud that he lives on in me

(RIP DAD 1941-2008)

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance.

It's a lifelong condition that can sometimes cause serious disability, although it can occasionally be mild.

In many cases, it's possible to treat symptoms. Average life expectancy is slightly reduced for people with MS.

It's most commonly diagnosed in people in their 20s and 30s, although it can develop at any age. It's about 2 to 3 times more common in women than men.

MS is 1 of the most common causes of disability in younger adults.

Please donate as much or as little as you can. It will be greatly appreciated. And please help to share my page with friends and Family. Although there is no known cure for MS The more money that can be raised for MS the easier it is to help find better treatment
