Story

Co-fundraising with two running club-mates, Becca and Tiph, I am finally asking you for money....

My running club RBRC, is formed of just three friends, and while two of us got in to the London Marathon 2022 on the ballot, one didn't, so we're taking on the team effort of fundraising.

The chosen charity is Guide Dogs UK and all of your donations to Becca, Tiph or me will go direct to them - I promise to de-paws-it every penny. LATE WARNING: DOG PUNS ARE LITTERED THROUGHOUT. Please fur-give me!

As a teacher in a mainstream school, I rarely encounter visually impaired students and this is clear evidence fur the difficulty of integration into mainstream schools, and wider society. I love the choice for Guide Dogs UK because they not only provide essential companion-support for visually-impaired adults to live independently, they also offer resources and crucial support for visually-impaired children and their famillies. Terrier-ific!

How are we doing with these dog puns? Some of them are ruff, I know. But a few of them have pet-tential!

(On a side note, Guide Dogs UK DO also provide Buddy Dogs for children, which is about the cutest thing I can imagine! I would love a few buddy dogs in school especially if it means children who haven't previously attended can come - labradorable! Think of me as a Buddy Dog to my Club Mates  -  anything is paw-sible when you have a dog by your side)

Having to resort to dog puns is so dog-grading - can't you see how desperate we are?!

On my training runs, I have been thinking hard about how lucky I am to be able to see the world going by, and for the chance to witness London town dressed up for the Marathon 2022, surrounded by puparazzi. Just like Guide Dogs UK (almost!) we don't want anyone to be left out of this marathon experience. Howl we do the marathon without our entire team present? We stick together fur better or worse!

Paw-lease help us to meet our team goal and feel good about yourself by donating to a cause that helps to ensure that people with sight loss are never left out of life. Thank-Tzu.

If you thought these puns were bad, look at the ones I couldn't quite squeeze in below..

Which is a dog's favourite Spice Girl? Paw-sh spice!

My dog barks at everyone. He’s a cross breed.

My dog prefers the finer things in life. His favorite sweater is from Chewie Bitton.

My dog is a model - she's on the cover of Vanity Fur.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
