Story
That’s a wrap! A half marathon in all 55 cities in England completed!
The past 2.5 years have honestly felt like a lifetime. I’ve run in rain, snow, wind, at sunrise and sunset, all across the country.. a total of 737 miles, 120 hours and >1.2 million steps of running, 300 hours of travelling including 160 trains, and over 50 friends and family joining me along the way.
This was all in aid YoungMinds UK - this brilliant charity fights for young people struggling with their mental health in the UK. Their work goes into funding a telephone advice line for parents, providing online advice to young people, and campaigning for improved funding for young people’s mental health services nationally.
With suicide remaining the biggest killer of 5-35 years olds, and referrals to mental health services at an all time high, this is a hugely important cause to fundraise for!
As a teenager I was never sporty, I couldn’t get out of PE fast enough, and so running was an unlikely hobby for me to pick up, however it’s the single best thing I’ve ever done for my mental health and has massively improved my confidence. If you told 16 year old me that we got into running at ALL, let alone did this challenge, she would literally never believe you.
Thank you so so much to everyone who’s donated, run or shared the challenge over the past 2.5 years 🥰
It's not too late to donate - I would still love to reach my goal of £10,000 - every pound matters and will make a difference to young people suffering with mental health conditions!
