We help the homeless or those in hardship to give them a better future

Story

Thank you so much for visiting my JG page.

Homelessness and poverty doesn’t discriminate and can happen to anyone from any walk of life, at any time.

A major event in someone’s life can cause things to spiral out of control and before they nowhere they are they have lost everything, including a roof over there head and access to daily food.

There is still a stigma and stereotype surrounding homeless people and this is completely wrong, this can happen to absolutely anyone.

I often think about the homeless out on the streets during the freezing winter months, it must be absolutely horrific for them, and I simply cannot begin to imagine what it must be like for them night after night.   My heart really does go out to them all.

I have been incredibly lucky throughout my life so far to always have had a roof over my head and food in my tummy, a LOT of people out there are not as lucky.

Because of this I would like to try and raise some vital funds and awareness in 2021 for Northampton Hope Centre which is my local centre for the homeless and those living in poverty.

They are a day centre who help and support those who are homeless or living in poverty. This could be with the very basics, such as showers, clothes, food, warmth, comfort and company.

I have set myself a personal challenge for 2021.  As always with me it’s pretty extreme, but not a patch on what the homeless people in Northampton must go through on a daily basis.

I am going to attempt to run 2021 miles 🏃‍♂️in 2021 (This equates to nearly 40 miles every week of this year, equivalent to running 🏃‍♂️ 3 half marathons a week for a year 👀).  I reckon this will be the hardest challenge I’ve ever done and it maybe a bridge too far, but as always I’ll give it everything I have to complete the challenge.   I know there will be some very tough times during a lot of my runs this year, but it won’t even come close to what the homeless must go through on a daily basis.

I know times are extremely tough for a lot of people at the moment, but if you are able to support me with my challenge by donating/sponsoring any amount you can afford then I would be extremely grateful and I know the Northampton Hope Centre will be as well.  It really would make a big difference and would help them continue their amazing work locally.

As times are extremely tough for a lot of people during this ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, if anyone is interested in sponsoring my challenge and in turn donating to the Hope Centre then I would like to ask for a Maximum of £10 per donation please.

And remember, homelessness can happen to anyone at any time!.  It could be me or you one day who is asking for help and in the same position.

EVERYONE deserves a daily hot meal and warm clothes!.

IT COSTS £4 TO FEED A HOMELESS PERSON PER DAY.

Thank you as always, Gary x 😀👍
