Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I want to do my bit to support our troops out in Afghanistan and more importantly support those who don't come back or return wounded.  They reckon that the casualty rate is something like 1 in 5.  So I have entered the Derwentwater 10 (a hilly 10 mile run round the lake near Keswick) with a view to raising money from sponsorship.

The Charity I am running for is the the Rifles Regimental Trust which helps soldiers and their families killed and injured whilst on duty. 3 Rifles have just been sent out to Afghanistan to undertake a 6 month tour of duty on Operation Herrick 11 in the North of Helmand.  Undoubtedly there will be casualties and they and their families will undoubtedly need support.   The son of a colleague of mine is a captain in the regiment has just been deployed out there and we all pray and hope that he returns safely.
