Running for Ruth
In January 2015 a month or so after losing my wife Ruth and mummy to Lydia, I decided to run the Ipswich Half Marathon to raise enough money to buy a park bench in the memory. Family and friends wanted to join me in the run. The running group grew to 52 people and together we raised £18,500 which purchased the bench and the remainder went to the Brain Tumour Charity. Now Ipswich is lucky enough to have a new format half marathon called the Great East Run. I decided to run the Half Marathon again which is on 24th September 2017. To date we have 100 runners committed (family and friends) to the complete the 13.1 mile run and help raise much needed funds for 'the Brain Tumour Charity'. Ruth is missed by me, my daughter, family and friends. Running for Ruth is about keeping Ruth close in our hearts whilst helping others that are in need of treatment. We need a cure, our fundraising can only help.
Thanks for reading my story, Danny and Lydia xx
