Firstly thanks for getting this far - you’re at least mildly interested in what we’re doing!
We know a lot of people ask for sponsorship these days, but we really hope that over the next 12 months one of our many adventures will either inspire you to donate or put on your trainers and get out for a few miles with us! The encouragement and support will be as valuable as the donations (but still donate! :) )
So who are we raising money for? The Evelina Childrens' Hospital!
The Evelina is an amazing place and very worthy of a few of your hard earned pounds, dollars (Aussie or US) and Euros! The hospital is designed by children, for children! Bright colours, a child friendly layout, lots of play space, music lessons, Ronald McDonald house for family stay-overs and some of the best paediatricians in the country! My Cousin benefited from treatment at Guy’s Hospital (of which, the Evelina is part of) during her early years, teens and into her 20s. Without the treatment and numerous transplants she would not have made it passed her 5 birthday. With the fantastic treatment, she made it all the way to 24. Incredibly sad, but also utterly amazing! She smashed the doctors’ first predictions - it really goes to show the benefit of great care and treatment!
We reckon the Evelina is hugely deserving of a few quid!
So what are we doing to justify a donation?
· Welsh Trail Marathon (26.2 hilly miles)
· Lakeland 50 Ultra Marthon (50 hilly miles)
· SatMap 10 Peaks Brecons (55 v.hilly miles)
· Clarendon Cross Country Marathon (26.2 miles)
· Birmingham Half Marathon (13.1 miles in full desert gear)
· Marathon des Sables (155 miles in the Sahara Desert)
· London Marathon (26.2 miles.... if I get a spot!)
· Oh and whole bunch of 10ks, 5ks and sweaty training session along the way
And the best thing… my employer will match every pound up to the equivalent of $5,000. So please make the most of that deal and make a big donation :)
You can check out our blogs here. But, before you do … please donate :)
