Story
On the 11th December 2017 my wife's Dad, Sean, passed away a couple of weeks after suffering a cardiac arrest, he was 65 and very recently retired. It was totally unexpected and there are no words to describe the pain and anguish that my wife's family and close friends went through in the weeks before Sean passed and indeed every day since. Sean was a proud family man - devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a friend to so many people in the local community and County Sligo, Ireland, where he was born. Sean touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of spending time in his company; his personality, kind heart and sense of humour was infectious.
In March 2018 we relocated from The Isle of Man to Manchester to be closer to my wife Kelly's mum and her family. The move has not been without it's challenges but things are working out. I've now got a special opportunity to remember Sean and raise a few quid for an incredible charity at the same time!
I'm running the London Marathon, 2022 to raise money for British Heart Foundation in memory of Sean but I'm also raising money for anybody who has ever been affected by heart and circulatory disease. My Dad was incredibly lucky to have survived a heart attack in late December 2009. I still remember it like it was yesterday. He subsequently had a quadruple heart bypass and is doing amazingly well. It's thanks to the amazing Doctors, scientists and the support from charities such as the BHF that new treatments and cures are being discovered.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives.
Every pound helps! Please give what you can to help me smash my target! Thank you so much for your support!
