Hi everyone,

War and conflict have no winners, and we have been bearing witness to the atrocities these last weeks and months through the news and social media.

I feel powerless, but at the same time a desire and commitment to help support the victims of the war in Ukraine. I have therefore decided to set myself a running challenge in an attempt to raise £1,750 for the Red Cross' work for those affected by the conflict, and I hope you will contribute.

 The challenge

In week 13 (Mon 28th March - Friday 1st April) I will run two half marathons a day for 5 days, followed by the Snowdon Trail marathon on Saturday 2nd April, which is a 46km race with total elevation of 2215 meters. The total challenge means I will attempt to run approximately 250km over 6 days.

 How you can contribute

There are two ways you can contribute to this project. Either by completing a run or making a donation.

  1. Run: For the first 40 people who complete a run, and share it on social media through either Strava, Instagram or Facebook, I will donate £10. When posting your run please use the hashtag #RunforUkraine and a link to crowdfunding page. You can also join the #RunforUkraine running club on Strava https://www.strava.com/clubs/1035993

  2. Donation: If you do not want to run, maybe you’d like to donate a penny or two per kilometer, or a one-off sum. In total, there will be 6 marathons in six days, which gives a total distance of just over 250 kilometers. The easiest way to contribute is by making a contribution to the splice: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/runforukraineuk

Running 250 kilometres in six days is a serious challenge for me, and I can not guarantee that I will be able to complete it. But I will put in my best effort and I hope it will lead to something good.

Many thanks to the running shop where I grew up, Energy House (Energihuset Nesodden), who has gifted me a pair of running shoes for the challenge.

You can follow my project on Strava here: https://www.strava.com/athletes/17902678 or join our #RunForUkraine running club https://www.strava.com/clubs/1035993

Many thanks, Nikko
