Story
I am running the Leicester half marathon for LOROS in memory of my friend, Rosy Appleton.
Rosy was an incredible person. Self described as an ‘awkward turtle’ but beyond this Rosy was a hilarious, beautiful, creative, and passionate individual. Rosy was also one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing.
Rosy was diagnosed with appendix cancer in 2022, which was eventually deemed incurable. Rosy’s journey was an incredibly difficult one to witness, however, the care she received when reaching LOROS was incredible. Not only did LOROS provide fantastic medical care, they also went above and beyond to ensure that Rosy and her family received the emotional support they needed at such a difficult time.
LOROS relies on voluntary contributions for over half of its running costs. It’s these contributions that enable people like Rosy to receive the care they need and deserve.
I am forever grateful to LOROS for all they have done, which is why I am hoping to raise as much money as I can, in memory of Rosy, who I love and who I miss more each day.
