It was tough but i completed the 10 miles in 01:42:49. It was worth all this fab sponsorship though for friends of picu - thanks everyone for your generosity!! :-)

Jo ran the full 5k on saturday in the freezing cold and strong winds with Craig without stopping once! 41 mins total time!! Massive achievement! xx
Hello
Thanks so much for thinking about sponsoring Jo, Craig and I for running across two events in this year’s Great South Run!
We’ll be raising money for Friends of PICU, a charity my family is so indebted to.
As some of you may know my sister, Jo, was a pretty poorly baby when she was born...my parents only finding out something was wrong when the hospital Chaplain asked if they wanted her Christened immediately, as she may not make it through her first night.
But Jo fought on and with the amazing staff and resource of Southampton’s PICU she’s here today, partying on! It’s left Jo with some physical issues to face throughout her life but that’s never stopped her living it to the max.
I feel very proud of Jo’s attitude towards her difficulties and it’s this inspiration which has compelled me to take on this challenge (as running 10 miles is something I thought I could never do!) and I’m honoured to be able to fundraise for the amazing charity.
If you’re around for the Great South Run (27-28 October) come and give Jo and Craig a cheer on for the 5k on the Saturday, a massive achievement for Jo, and then a cheer or two would be greatly appreciated as I battle the 10 miler on the Sunday.
Thanks again and please dig deep and donate now to help support us and Friends of PICU.
Big hugs!
Emma, Jo and Craig xx
