Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the inaugural York Marathon on Sunday 20th October in memory of a truly amazing friend Nicola Laverack.

Nicola lost her courageous battle with breast cancer on Boxing Day 2011.  Throughout her battle against this terrible disease she showed many the true meaning of the word courage.  Nicola always had a smile for you and never complained no matter what.  I find that kind of strength amazing and its inspired me to run this marathon.

During Nicola's illness she received fantastic support from the amazing staff at St Leonards Hospice, so I am raising money for them.

Everybody who reads this will have been affected by cancer in some way, so please dig deep every penny counts to help St Leonards carry on with the expert care and support they provide to the people of York.

Thanks for reading, rest in peace Nicola xxx
