How many miles can you run in 30 days? Could you take on 50 or 100 miles to help us beat dementia?

Story

As many of my friends and family will know, last week Ellie’s grandma passed away. For the last years of her life she had been suffering with dementia, a disease that affects so many people and I am sure we all have our own either direct or in-direct connections to this disease. My Nan also was taken away years ago due to this disease after suffering with it for many years.

Although the support networks that are available offer a fantastic service to those that are suffering with this illness, there is still optimism that continued research into this field will eventually lead to better medicines becoming available to prevent this occurring full stop.

A lot of you will also know that I have never been a keen runner but I have always been willing to accept a challenge which gives me an opportunity to support charities that are both close to my heart and to others as well. It is for this reason that I have decided to join Team JeanMather and will be attempting to run 100 miles in 30 days. This will of course be a difficult feat but knowing that I am doing this for those lost to us will drag me across the line.
