Story
Hi there,
In the summer of 2008 I ran a 10k run in London, which I completed in around 52 minutes. I raised about £700 for charity which was great. When I finished, I felt ecxtatic both physically and from the achievement of raising money for good causes. Based on that, I came up with the idea of running from Harpenden (where my family live) to Scotland (where my Grandad originated). At the time, I do not think even I believed it would happen. As time went by and as more people said it was ridiculous, this encouraged me to think about it seriously and begin training for it. Slowly but surely, people (family and friends included!) came around to the fact that I was going to do it and now they are supporting me in a variety of ways.
I decided to raise money for Action for Children based on my experiences in school placements as part of my degree course. it is hard to imagine some of the things children to, both as sons and daughters, but also as carers for ill parents or siblings. Many of these children balance these responsibilities with their education and should be an inspiration to us all. Action for Children helps support these children in the great work they are doing and I hope to support Action for Children doing so.
In the coming weeks, I will have my own website up and running which will have details of my run (route, time, distance etc), information on donations and charities, competitions and hopefully a GPS tracker which will show exactly where I am at a given time. You will be able to access this at
I also have a twitter account - rundobierun - and search for me through facebook, where I have a group, which is regualrly updated with my current training and news. Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
So please sponsor me now!
