In conjunction with Roktober I am running the Kielder Marathon on the 6th October 2013 in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

There are currently 750,000 people in the UK living with heart failure, with an estimated 25,000 new cases each year.

Currently there is no cure for heart failure. It's a waiting game for all concerned. The British Heart Foundation now believe that with advances in regenerative medicine that there is hope, that repairing a damaged heart is a realistic goal. I would love to play a small part in helping them achieve it.
