New York City Marathon 2018 · 4 November 2018 ·

This November, Cure Leukaemia will take it's biggest team EVER to the world's most iconic marathon, New York City 2018.

Story

In the past two years, I have met a number of courageous patients that are fighting this cruel disease and sadly since taking up this challenge have also lost a relative recently to Leukaemia.  You do not need to look very far to find someone that has been affected by this cancer.

Working closely with the charity, I have come across a number of heroic individuals, personal stories and challenges which have inspired me to actively do more.  I'm not a runner but have always wanted to take on an endurance challenge.  The opportunity came to further support this life saving charity by taking part in the 26 mile run.

Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies. Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.
