Home Run 2022 · 1 May 2022 to 31 May 2022 ·
Over the years, Danny Chang has undertaken various charitable causes to fun(d) raise including:
1. Riding a bicycle 400km countless times to Singapore between 2011-2015 for Standard Chartered’s Seeing Is Believing cause to prevent cataract led blindness. The most epic being the 2015 journey on a 18kg single speed gentlemen’s bike along the same route the Japanese Imperial Army took to invade Malaya and Singapore during WWII.
2. Race self-supported (completing a marathon a day for a week with 11kg backpack) across the Gobi Desert to raise funds for clean water access for remote villages in Sabah (Borneo).
The Covid-19 pandemic is a dark chapter in humanity we all wish to erase from our memories. The damaging effects of the virus took away 2 years of our respective youth (and 2 years worth of Danny’s hair too).
Danny and his Run Away From Work team mates are restarting efforts to give something back to the society they serve, work and live…….and they are looking for YOUR support.
DONATE here to support Danny and the Runners Away From Work.
**REMINDER!! Type in your entry estimate(s) on number of steps Danny will take to run 12.5km home in the comments section after the donation is made**
The fund raised go towards Futuremakers, the Bank’s global initiative to tackle inequality and promote greater economic inclusion amongst young people by empowering the next generation. Danny was fortunate to be part of staff athlete that participated in the 2019 Belt and Road Relay, running across 45 markets over 90 days. He met a hairdresser that benefited from the small Futuremakers grant that helped establish her own shop back in her own village that generated employment income and training that change the livelihood of other fellow villagers.
