Story
In August, my two little sisters and I lost our Dad to suicide.
Suicide has been named as the single biggest killer of men aged under 45. In 2016 there were 5,669 suicides recorded in Great Britain - 75% of these people were male. That's 84 men choosing to end their own lives every week. That's 12 men every day. That's 1 man every 2hrs.
Many men don't feel like they can talk about stress, anxiety and depression, and this bottling up can lead to heartbreaking results of suicide or attempted suicide.
When you're in the midst of anxiety and depression, it can feel like you're alone and like there is no hope of help out there. But there really is. There is help. There is hope.
MIND charity believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. They offer a number of services that provide support and care for the people they work with, as well as raising awareness about mental health to combat stigma and empower those who feel in the dark.
That is why next May, I am going to be taking part in the London2Brighton challenge - running, jogging and walking 100km, over 2 days, to raise money for MIND - in memory of my Dad and in love for the people left behind.
To be able to take part in this challenge, I need to raise a minimum of £595. So, if you are able to, please donate and share this page to help me raise money for such an important cause that is very close to my heart.
Thank you so much, and God bless.
