Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In May 2015, our Mum finally lost her fight against cancer. Making that statement still fills me with hurt and a huge sense that life just isn't fair.
Mum was resilient and as positive as she could be, right up to the end. She made it clear to my brother, sisters and I that we should always try to live life to the fullest, and to do whatever makes us, and others, happy.
The London Marathon each year was always a big day for Mum. If there was such a thing as a professional supporter, she fit the bill. Her backpack full of Jelly Babies, sandwiches and flask(s) of tea would be packed the night before, and she reveled in not just supporting me, but every runner on the course. Literally thousands of weary runners have taken a chewy sweet or banana from her since she first went in the 90's!
So here I go again, undertaking a 4 month training regime to get me fit enough to be on the start line, so that I don't let her down. There will be no silly World Record attempts or outfits this year, as I am battling some back and knee problems, with the help of a sadistic, but effective chiropractor.
I have chosen to support the Family Holiday Association again, purely because they help to give struggling families a better life and something to look forward to. It really is a wonderful charity, and I hope you will choose to support me via a donation towards their work, no matter how small (or large!) it might be.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Regular updates will be posted here in the coming weeks.
