Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My Dad, Steve Rowland, was recently diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.
For those of you who know my Dad, You will agree he is a great Friend, Father and Grandfather. He will always make you laugh, be there when you need him, a true superhero in plain clothing.
Inspired to not sit by and feel sorry for him and the difficult times ahead, I hope you will be inspired like me to do something about it.
In the UK, 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in their lives and I am two and half times more likely to get Prostate Cancer because my Dad has it...which is further increased by my recent weight gain and unhealthy diet. Time to do something about it. So “Run Fat Boy Run”
I am running 12 x 10k+ races over 2019, and your support through Donating to Prostate Cancer U.K..... or through heckling, banter and piss taking of seeing this fat boy run is appreciated.
The Races I am completing in 2019 are:
Please help support me in these races, not just by donating, but by attending or better yet running with me in my training and races over the year.
The money we raise will help Prostate Cancer UK continue their work, which includes:
1. Funding research into better ways to diagnose, treat and cure prostate cancer.
2. Providing vital services to support men and their families during and after treatment.
3. Campaigning on the behalf of men to ensure their needs are met.
Research into prostate cancer and services for men with the disease have been badly underfunded. Meanwhile, more and more men are getting diagnosed every year and it’s predicted that prostate cancer will be the most common cancer in the UK by 2030.
With our help we’ll be able to make a real difference to the thousands of men affected by the disease each year. The money we raise will revolutionise the way we detect and treat prostate cancer as well as helping to provide vital services for men with the disease.
