Our brilliant little Jasper couldn’t wait to meet us and came into the world at just 25 weeks. As wonderful as it was to have him with us it was a very scary time due to him being so premature. He was rushed to Jessop’s Hospital in Sheffield and they were fantastic and Jasper is now home with his mum and dad (Nick and Vic who are awesome).
The whole experience left me inspired and wanting to help other children. I came across Bliss who aim to give every premature baby the best chance of survival and quality of life. With 300 children needing support each and every day in the neonatal wards across the UK, this charity supports the family to ensure they’re supported with information and counselling. This is important as a premature birth is something no one plans for.
So the challenge I’ve set myself is to train, run and complete the Great North Run. It’s the biggest half marathon in the world. Those who know me know I used to run, but that was years ago, and i never ran that type of distance. The prospect of 13.1 miles is daunting. I’d be grateful for any sponsorship.
